Let's kick things off with the best advice I can give any home butcher trying to save money; buying whole and breaking down chickens. This one is obvious when you look at the price per pound in the grocery store. Buying whole birds is at least half the price of boneless, skinless parts. With minimal effort, you can get exactly the same items sold at the grocery store for significant cost savings, plus a few added benefits that you can’t find in more shops.
