When I lived @ Scripps, there were "Hawk times" and "Crow times"...They'd duke it out for the territory in the park across the street. Personally I was kind of rooting for the hawks, but that's not to say I'm anti-crow, especially now that I know you and Mel and your sister have such a connection! Also have you ever seen a crow up close and how absolutely gorgeous their wings are? like deep deep purple sometimes? Thank you, Steve!

I’m a big hawk fan too. Not sure I could choose between them. I totally know what you mean about the beautiful iridescence of crow feathers. It’s like they have some magic potion on their wings…..

Crows fill me with awe. I think they're beautiful, though I'm not saying I want close encounters!

I used to find them so creepy. And now, I smile every time I hear one caw through an open window.

I’ve always loved and appreciated crows. Recently I was walking through my neighborhood with my puppers one morning. A crow flew close to me and had the strangest caw. I was worried something might be wrong with him/her so I turned to look at it. When I did, there was a coyote about 20ft from me and my dog. I fully believe the crow was alerting me to see the coyote. I picked up my dog, told the coyote I didn’t want any trouble and it went on its way. I profusely thanked the crow and took some peanuts later that day to the area where it landed to say a proper thank you. They are incredible birds!

They are so powerful and too damn smart. It makes me wonder what other animals are having conversations around us that we can’t comprehend.

They’ve got so much to teach us. And for some reason, they’ve been circling my house all week.
