Entangled Life is my favorite non-fiction book. I continue to give it as gifts to my friends. Sheldrake laid out such a beautiful case for symbiosis. It changed how I view all living things.

If you haven’t read it yet, Hawken’s Carbon is fantastic.

After I read this post, I immediately ordered Carbon! It sounds exactly like the type of thing I want to read right now. I’ve read the light eaters. I enjoyed it, maybe not as much as I enjoyed Entangled Life.

I'm reading Michael Pollan’s A World Appears right now. In fact, I was reading it when I took a quick break to do a search on Substack for Entangled Life and found your post. Im only a few chapters in Pollan’s book. I hope it will hook me more.

I was so blown away by Entangled Life. I think Carbon might a better choice for me right now. I’d never heard of it until your post and then I read about it and ordered it straight away. Will come back here after I’m done and share my thoughts. Thank you for the recommendation!

Can’t wait to hear what you think. It’s the right balance of urgency, optimism, and reverence for the natural world that helps me get up each morning.

A beautiful reminder that we are nature, and are healthiest when we return to it. 💚

Ahh!! This is so beautiful. It inspired me to eat breakfast outside today and see everything in my backyard so differently. Collaboration, cycle, reciprocity.

It may be worth it.

This may seem juvenile or naive at this stage in my life but my first introduction to nature as consciousness was as a child after reading the Giving Tree. I remember, in a childhood home, having conversations with the tree which stood in our backyard. I don't recall but I may have even hugged it.

I love the Giving Tree. Books like that remind us that our childhood inclinations are probably more truthful and honest than we give credit.

Have you by chance read What The Robin Knows by Jon Young?

I haven’t. Should I add it to the list?

I think so
